About Us
Monopoint Ventures builds software for laboratories working under regulatory oversight, where being right is only half the requirement and being able to demonstrate it is the other half.
We work with laboratories, LIMS and ELN providers, automation vendors, CROs and CDMOs, building middleware that leaves alone whatever already works on the bench.
Why We Started
Every industry is being told it needs AI. Regulated laboratories have a harder version of the problem, because their output has to be defensible to someone who will ask questions about it later. A model that writes a plausible protocol does not help if nobody can say where a step came from, why it was chosen, or whether it was ever validated.
We went after that with architecture rather than with a better model. Virgil’s assistant has no mechanism for producing an unvalidated step, every decision it makes is recorded for review, and none of it requires data to leave your building. In a setting where “the reviewer will catch it” does not count as a control, that constraint is what makes the assistance usable at all.
What We Build
Virgil covers the distance from what a scientist says to what a regulator reads, in three capabilities:
- Workflow Authoring — describe a procedure in your own words and get a validated, export-ready workflow, composed from building blocks your laboratory has already approved.
- Fleet Configuration — a working model of your laboratory, so you can see what a protocol will cost and where it will queue before you commit a sample or a purchase order.
- Runtime Execution — run the work on real equipment, with qualification checked before it starts and the compliance record produced as it happens.
It runs in the cloud, in your data center, or entirely air-gapped, with the same capabilities in each. The technology is protected by pending U.S. patent applications.
Our Team

Blair Caple
Over three decades in enterprise software architecture, management consulting and life sciences digital transformation. Most recently Global Leader of Innovation Delivery at Revvity (formerly PerkinElmer), building platforms for scientists in Diagnostics, Life Sciences, Genomics and Drug Discovery. Previously President of Kaaterskil Management for 24 years. Inventor on Monopoint's pending U.S. patent applications.

Vlad Zachary
Over two decades of building and modernizing digital platforms for enterprises including CVS Health, Estée Lauder, Atlassian and Demandware. Led transformation initiatives that drove measurable scale, with a focus on radical elegance, rigorous product-market fit and deep human usability. Adept at wrapping technical complexity under the hood so people can focus on the work that actually moves the world forward.
What We Believe
- The scientist is the user. Not the integrator who configures the system, and not the vendor who sells it.
- Compliance should be a consequence of the work, produced by doing the job rather than by documenting it afterwards.
- A system should say when it does not know. Software that fills a gap with a plausible default puts unearned authority into a record someone will later rely on.
- Your data stays yours — including when the AI is the thing using it.
- Adoption should be additive. Nothing validated should have to be torn out to make room for us.
